Episode 21: The One with Amazing Grace

Hello friends! I hope everyone is having an excellent week!

This week was really good. We have been really busy, but that is always a good thing for a missionary.

We are teaching a really solid investigator right now named Serian (I probably spelled that all kinds of wrong and will have to correct myself in the future). He is a friend of our recent convert family, and he just moved from Cambodia about 3 months ago. His wife (who I haven't met yet) lived in Utah for a while, and is already a member of our church. Serian came to church this past week, and he is just the sweetest guy ever. He really liked church, and wants to be baptized soon, which is awesome!

Another highlight from this week was a fireside that we put on as missionaries. It was musical numbers by the missionaries and testimonies by recent converts. It was an amazing fireside. The stories of each person coming into the church was different, but you could see God's hand guiding each and every one of them. It was a real testament to me that God is aware of each and every one of my investigators, and of me.

The music we sang was very powerful, too. The Spirit is so strong in the singing of hymns. We sang Called to Serve, We'll Bring the World His Truth, Battle Hymn of the Republic, and Amazing Grace: My Chains Are Gone. If you haven't heard any of these songs, I recommend looking them up because they are all amazing. But, I particularly want to talk for a second about Amazing Grace. You can actually find my mission singing this on line if you look up "Amazing Grace WA-TAC" or something like that. It is our mission theme song, and we sing it any time we are gathered together. I love the lyrics of it. It says "My chains are gone, I've been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me>" I think that is just beautiful. Jesus Christ has freed us from our chains. Whether they be chains of guilt, sorrow, pain, regret, or anything else, he has paid the price for our freedom from them. Through him, we, who "once were lost", "now are found", and we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again. How amazing is His grace?!

Have an excellent week, and I will talk to you again next Tuesday!

Love,

Sister Lemon
